Netvibes widget is blank
bdturner says:
I seem to be able to log into RTM from netvibes as normal, but it currently shows a blank "widget".
None of the links appear to do anything, although the logout buttton works. Logging back in does not fix the problem. Equally, closing and refreshing the browser has not bought back my remember the milk info.
Is it just me getting this problem ? Has anything changed to cause this ?
Thanks,
Ben

Ben, would it be possible to let us know which browser and operating system you're using to access Netvibes? We haven't made any changes to the module recently, but we can check this out. Thanks!

Firefox 2.0.0.4 and windows xp SP2 (prof. edition at work, home edition at home)
I am getting a blank panel at both work and home.
Tried logging out and back into Netvibes as well - no luck.

I logged out, repositioned and tried to remove the RTM widget in netvibes.
As I removed it, it threw an error box :

Thanks for these details. We're currently working to reproduce this issue (we're not sure if the problem is on our end or if it's a recent change with Netvibes). Would it be possible to try Netvibes with IE (or another browser) and see if the problem exists there? This would help us to rule out a Firefox or extension-specific issue. Thanks!
bdturner says:
It works in IE.
I have disabled every firefox addon, restarted firefox, deleted all cookies matching "netvibes" and "remember, restarted firefox again, loaded the netvibes page, logged into RTM on the widget (noting that the login boxes were still pre-populated - of course that's firefox password manager doing that, not the cookies) and still have the same issue.
I then just tried it on a workmate's browser - same problem.

I have tried this again in Firefox for a browser outside of my company webproxy, and it works fine.
So perhaps the widget is unable to work through our proxy ? It is a standard webproxy, with authentication. None of the other widgets I use have trouble with it though.

Thanks for trying this.
It could be the proxy that's stopping RTM in Netvibes, as the module is loaded in an iframe.
It may be worth trying Firefox in safe mode to make sure that no settings or extensions are causing problems -- if it still doesn't work in safe mode, then unfortunately it's most likely the proxy causing problems.

Safe-mode did not work.
Odd that the module DOES work in IE and not firefox. But using it in IE is clearly not a serious option for a productivity tool !
Will keep trying now and then to trick it into working, as that front end worked really well for me. Otherwise can anyone recommend a similar tool I could try ? Or another RTM widget ?

Thanks for testing this.
Hmm, we've been continuing our testing here and unfortunately haven't been able to track this down. One thing that I didn't mention -- you indicated that you cleared your browser's cookies, but I'm not sure if you cleared cache as well? This may be worth trying too.
We're happy to continue investigating, in case there is something that we can do on our end -- just not sure what's happening if the same Netvibes account works in one browser but not another. If you'd like, please feel free to send us a screenshot to [old address removed] of Netvibes in Firefox where the module isn't displaying correctly. This may help in figuring out what's going on.
Otherwise, the only thing that I can recommend (if you're willing to switch start pages) is to try out iGoogle -- we have an iGoogle gadget too :)

I'm having the same problem. I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.4 and Windows Vista. Whenever I load my Netvibes page, I see the RTM widget properly for a little while, then the page finishes loading, and the widget loses all content, and I only see the title bar. I've tried using Safe mode in Firefox and the problem persists.

Sorry to double post, but I forgot to add that I will occasionally get the alert:

Well, after some trial and error, I may have found a solution. Bear in mind that though this worked for me, I have no idea whether it will for you.
I signed out of Netvibes, to try to see if there was a confliction with another module. I added the RTM module from the Netvibes ecosystem to the generic, new user page. After finding that to work, I signed in to my Netvibes account, to see if I should remove modules to find the conflict. However as soon as I logged in, it worked, and it has ever since. Perhaps there was another reason for it to work, but it seemed like this did the trick for me. Hope it helps someone else.

I have the same problem, also with Firefox 2.0.0.4 running on XP Pro, SP2. The module is blank and refreshing the module has no effect. I couldn't get tswift_2's suggestion to work.

same here. firefox 2.0.0.4, XP Pro, same error comes up (occasionally), most of the time it is just blank though. Ihave removed, readded, cleared cache, etc. Still just a blank box.
It's doing the same (blank box) in IE for me as well.

Thanks for letting us know -- it looks like Netvibes has made a change in the past day or so that has caused the module to stop working. We'll contact them and see if we can get this working again.

Im getting a problem in BOTH IE and firefox, running XP SP2 on home and work machines. I thought it would be a firefox issue but seems to be be in IE as well. The module originally loads fine, it even reloaded after a refresh. Then seem to die inexplicably after 5mins, now im just getting the top label and nothing else.
