Shopping Lists

What's the best way of actually compiling a shopping list? The way I see it you can either have a list with individual items as tasks, or create a task with the items listed in the notes.
Is anyone actually using rtm to compile shopping lists?

I love using RTM to compile lists of separate errnds I need to run (the location mapping is great here), but I am less thrilled with using it for something like groceries.
This is an area where more access to notes or some sort of dependency would come in handy. I am not big on the idea of dependency, so you almost never hear me speak of it, but it would help here.
Short of that, you could email things to your inbox with a shoppinglist tag using a preconfigured email template, and then compile them with a SmartList - that could work pretty well.

I keep a list of grocery items tagged by location (@safeway, @drugstore, etc.). Before a weekend shopping trip I tick the appropriate items, duplicate them, then copy the duplicates to a new list. For items tagged @safeway I also have the aisle number listed in a note. A python script grabs the list and uses the note to sort the items by aisle, so I don't bounce around the store.
