So I have a list that I want to sort by start date and due date. Essentially whichever date comes due first, whether it be the due date or the start date, I'd like to have the task appear on top of the list. The problem right now is I can't sort that way. I have to sort by one first, then the other. What ends up happening is for example, if I sort first by start date, then any task with a start date will always display up top, even if it's a year from now and I have more urgent tasks with due dates but no start dates due tomorrow.

Try adding "added date" to the sort. Since that task due a year from now was the most recently added, it would go down on the list, especially if added date is the first criteria you sort by.
