Anroid app doesn't recognise that I've upgraded

I just upgraded to pro today, using the web app on my laptop. I already had the android app and I can't work out how to get it to recognise that I've upgraded. If I ask it to sync it asks me to upgrade.
Also, when I do eventually sync, which way does it work? App to Laptop, vice versa or both ways?

If syncing manually doesn't help, can you contact us so we can help you look at some specifics?
You can sync manually by swiping down in any view (the left navigation bar, a list view, a task's details).
