workaround for repeat after [X] hours?

However, I cannot think of a way to mimic a "repeat AFTER [X] hours" function. (See http://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/ideas/15642/ and please vote!)

I've just been manually resetting the due time. Does anyone have a better idea?
