Bug in RTM when viewed via Google

kisholi says:
RTM works great when I'm using it from your site. However when I check it using my Customized Google homepage I see today's tasks as being due tomorrow.

This same problem occurs inside Google Calendar. See http://picasaweb.google.com/kisholimendis/Bugs for screenshots

I have checked timezones on Google Calendar, RTM, my system settings, Google account etc and they are all set to +5.30 GMT.

Please see if you can figure out what's wrong here..

kisholi, thanks for letting us know. Could you please check that the timezones set in RTM and your system settings are accurate for your current location? Sometimes tasks can end up 1hr off if the location does not match (e.g. one location is observing daylight savings) and this can cause the tasks to show on the wrong day in the gadget and calendar.

A similar problem occurs to me ween I access a task from Google Calendar: task notes are not visible, even refreshing the page with the browser button. Every activity has zero notes, while if I access RTM from his website all Notes are available. Please, could you check for this? Thanks

Paolo, can you please clarify where you're expecting to see the notes? The Google Calendar feature doesn't currently include notes along with the tasks. Thanks!

I am having a similar problem viewing tasks in Google Calendar after March 11 (Daylight savings time).

When I click on March 11, it says,
"Today (+) -- Mar 11 -- No Tasks Today"

However, when I click on March 12, it still says,
"Today (+) -- Mar 11 -- No Tasks Today"

This problem occurs for every day after Mar 11. It also affects the date tasks are added by clicking the (+) after "Today" after that date. It seems logical that this might self correct on March 12 (after the time resets), but it should be noted that there is a problem adding tasks through Google Calendar ahead of time.

I had a similar problem not restricted to Google calendar. An event which I had set for March 12th kept flipping between being due on the 11th and the 12th on both the Google Homepage add-on and RTM; same for an automatically re-posted event that happened to fall on the 12th--or the 11th, I'm not sure now which it was supposed to be.

After I manually reset the first event as being due on the 12th (at a time when it was being shown as the 11th), it seemed to stick there, finally. This problem didn't seem restricted to within one hour of another day, and I'm pretty sure all my time zones are set correctly.

Weird. :) This little bug made me realize just how dependent I am on RTM. :(

I'm also having the Google module problem. When I go to RTM, everything looks fine. But on my Google module, everything is a day off. It thinks today is the 25th, tomorrow is the 26th, etc., even though today is the 26th. I've checked all my time zones and they are all set the same, and all observing DST.

I still love RTM, it's incredibly helpful. I had no idea something so simple could make me so much more productive!

peace.n.kwiet, thanks for reporting this. Would it be possible for you to contact us with the name of a task that displays on the incorrect day? We'd be happy to check into this and see why it's happening. Thanks!

Update - I sent you a task yesterday as requested. Today when I logged in, things were even weirder than before, as detailed in a new thread I started. Basically, RTM didn't seem to know what day it was.

But now I just logged back in after a gap of a few hours . . . and everything is fine! When I started the other thread, everything was being wacky - the homepage module, the gCal calendar, and RTM itself. Now, all of those are fixed! Go figure.

I'll join the charge. On the Google calendar the tasks for a specific date are being reported as tomorrow's tasks.

standsure, can you please make sure that your timezone setting in Remember The Milk matches your system timezone on any computers where you use the site? It's also important to check the location of the timezone to make sure that they match. If you continue to experience problems, please contact us with the name of one of affected tasks, and we can check into this. Thanks!

Same problem here too. My timezone is correct, I checked.
When I'm inside RTM's main interface, everything is fine and in the right dates and times.
However - when viewing from GCal, or via Google Personalized Homepage, the date is wrong: today's task appear as tomorrow's tasks (the plugin/gadget thinks that today is yesterday, i.e. if today is 22nd April, the gadget shows today as 21st)
