New Task Shortcut

(closed account) says:
Hello,

I am missing the possibility to add a task per shortcut. I really wonder why this is not already possible =)
I don't understand why most devs just only have tons of widget possibilities and shortcuts are so seldom.
In so many cases shortcuts are much better.

Greetings
Hyper

Hi Hyper,
Thanks for your feedback. We don't have any shortcuts registered, but you can quickly add a task with any of our list widgets, our Smart Bar widget, or by adding a badge widget for adding a task; I think you'd probably prefer that last option for a quick way just for adding a task.

We'd be interested to know how you'd prefer to use a shortcut that the widget doesn't do, or what other advantages you find shortcuts have. Thanks again!

Shortcuts can be added to almost every tool that enhances the navigation in android. I don't like my homescreens be cluttered with tons of widges.
Widges are overrated. They use more battery and in most cases they are just useless. I use only one widget, thats my calender. Everything else is useless. For example let's say you have 6 home screens with widges and I have my two. We both start at the main screen and want to navigate to a certain tool to put in some information. When you have reached this tool I am nearly finished putting in the information^^
I make one swipe, a toolbar opens and I directly get to what every app I want to get. ;-)
Widgets suck :-p

Hi hypercrisis,
Thanks for the input on this! I'll pass this along to our development team for review.

Also widgets cannot be restored if a device is reinstalled, shortcuts can. Ideally I'd like to see the RTM Smart Badge Widget converted to a shortcut so I can quickly access my smart lists. Is this functionality on the road map?
