Jelly Bean Nexus S Battery Usage?

nic.musolino says:
Just updated to Jelly Bean last week. Battery life has taken a hit and when I looked at the usage, RTM was 69% (by comparison, on my Nexus 7, it wasn't even showing -- the bottom of the chart was at 2%). Both have widgets on a home screen (the Nexus S is 3G connect only, the Nexus 7, of course, is WiFi).

For the time being, I've deleted the widget (to see if something else starts eating my battery)

Anyone else seeing this?

Hi nic.musolino,
If you find that the problem is specific to the app or the widget, would you be able to contact us so we can get some more details about this?

Thanks!

Without the widget over the past two days, it's been fine. Just up on a full charge and dropped in a new widget (no other sys changes) and will let it sit this evening and see. Nexus 7 continues to be fine with the widget.

Hi nic.musolino,
You may want to double-check battery usage in Android's Settings to see what is using your battery; often there may be multiple things that seem to be using a lot of battery.

If Remember The Milk does seem to be using more than it does without the widget, we'd be curious to know what the widget was set to show: a Smart List (if so, which criteria?), a list, Today, etc.? Feel free to contact us on our site if you'd prefer not to post these details on the forum.

I swap two batteries regularly -- I've gone through a full day on both (about 20 hours ea) with the widget back in place (3x3, no smart lists, not on my main home screen). RTM is not showing up in the usage list at all (<2%) Screen and Phone are at the top as I would expect.

What ever caused that behavior looks to be a fluke and not a bug. My charges the first few days on JB seemed weak overall, but over the weekend it seems to be 'normal.'

Thanks for the feedback; I'll spot check periodically, but for now considered it closed.
