Permanent storage of completed tasks: exception when tasks are automatically deleted
aamado says:
Good evening! Apparently, all my completed tasks in Remember the Milk were deleted. This is what I think happened: I have a Pro account. When a new yearly payment was due, I only noticed it when my account switched again to Non-Pro. I promptly paid and went back to my full Pro account. however, when I checked, all completed tasks were gone.
In some cases (such as mine), this can be catastrophic. I thought this information was permanent and a lot of reference information on completed tasks was ONLY stored there, and I lost it forever.
Please let me know if the completed tasks were really deleted. If so, will this problem be fixed? Having a Pro account ended up being bad when it ended.
Thanks! Sincerely,
Armando Amado

Hi Armando,
Sorry to hear you lost some tasks. Having your Pro status lapse will not delete your tasks, so that can't be the only thing that happened.
Can you contact us on our site so we can discuss some more details and see if we can figure out what happened? Thanks!

You are right! I kept searching for the "missing" tasks and found them. Thanks!
Now I have a different question. The following is an example of a group of completed tasks I can't see:
I have a list named "Reference", and completed very few tasks, which I use for confidential information since this is difficult to find in the Android Smartphone.
However, it proved way too difficult to find! Now I can only find it with the main website, and never within the Android application. I am surprised, since within Android, it should be even easier: simply selecting the "Reference" list, and then clicking on the "Completed" tab. I have tried this, plus searching in all sort of manners, such as using "status:completed", and nothing works when within the Android application: it won't show my completed tasks within the "Reference" list, while these easily come up in the main website.
I have a Latin American version Samsung Galaxy S II running Android 2.3.3 and automatically update Rememberthemilk so I have the latest version.
(If a solution is not found, this is not a problem for me, since I can easily copy the tasks information somewhere else so I can access it in my Smartphone.)
Thank you! A

Hi aamado,
Our mobile apps, including the Android app, are able to limit the number of completed tasks stored on the device. This helps reduce storage space, if necessary.
In the Android app, open the app settings and review the "Sync" option. If this is set to "2 weeks", for example, and the tasks in your Reference list were completed more than 2 weeks ago, they won't be viewable in the app. You can adjust this "Sync" option to include more completed tasks.
Hope that helps!
