"remember me" when logging in

rcamner says:
I'm using Safari with Mac OS 10.4.7, and I can't seem to stay logged in to RTM. When I log in, I dutifully check "remember me", and all that seems to do is that when I'm presented with the login screen, if I type the first letter of my username the rest is filled in automatically. Am I missing something here?

To add a few data points, I find using Camino on my Mac and IE6 and IE7 and Firefox 2 on my work XP machine, that "Remember Me" is a very hit or miss affair. I've never troubleshot the issue - I just know that sometimes it works, and many times it doesn't.

Thanks for reporting this.

For anyone experiencing problems with this feature, can I ask which URL you're using to access the site? It should login automatically if you go to:

http://www.rememberthemilk.com/

However, if you've bookmarked the login screen or another URL on the site, it will prompt for your login instead.

Also, it will only remember the login for 2 weeks since your last visit (so that's a possible reason for it not working if you don't login frequently).

Well, that's my problem - I've got a depper link as my start point. I will revise my bookmarks to point to the top level, and it will be nice to not have to sign in over and over.

As for my RTM account being idle for 2 weeks - that's beyond imagination for me.

Ran, great -- if you experience any problems with it, please let us know (and sorry it wasn't clearer how it worked). I figured your account being idle for 2 weeks wasn't too likely :)

I'm having the same problem from the Google personalized home page (after installing the RTM widget). Very frustrated, makes the widget almost unusable for practical purposes. Any ideas?
