Usability Flaw/Problem: Adding New Tasks in "Multiple Smart Lists"-Use Model

(closed account) says:
I don't know if this could properly be considered a "bug," but it's perhaps my biggest usability problem.

I don't use a 'normal' list as the list that I have as my default; I use a 'smart list.' I do this because I only have one 'normal' list, and I then create different views of it as smart lists based on tags and what I want to see (i.e., just show me stuff overdue, due in the next 10 days, or never due but with (or without) certain tags).

The problem is that when I want to add to these lists, the 'new task' feature doesn't work -- because it's a smart list. I have to then manually go to the non-smart list, add a task, and then go back to the one I was working out of.

It's not, strictly, a bug -- but to me, it's a rather bad usability problem. I'd love it if one could add a task in any list of RTM. If it doesn't suit the requirements or search tags of that particular list, perhaps it could then just disappear.

Obliged in advance for your consideration.

While you're right that it's not a bug, it does bug me 9 times out of 10.

My favorite suggestion to deal with this is from this thread "Add task in smart list -- act like a template"
http://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/ideas/919/.

I'd love it if that template idea were implemented.
