API access to tags

I'm thinking that there are some clever things that could be done with tags if the API access is flexible enough ... really i think that tag manipulation is the key to a really powerful list system ... because you can abstract your giant pile of todos however you want, whenever you want ... on the fly ...

ah & you definitely need to be able to access the raw list of tags, edit them, rename them, alias them ( i mean declare synonyms a la Wordpress Ultimate Tag Warrior .... really, I hate to be a feature ho .... sorry ... merry christmas !!! :-)

q23, the API will currently allow you to add tags, remove tags, or set tags on tasks (in addition to showing the tags for tasks). Any suggestions for additional functionality that you'd like to see in the API are always welcome on the developer mailing list too -- thanks for your feedback!
