I've tried changing the webcal:// to http://, but no luck.
Also, the only choices it gives me for signing up are iCalendar and WebDav, and it never prompts me for a user name and password.

Will, thanks for reporting this. Can I ask which Sunbird release and operating system you're using? It's quite strange that it never gets to prompting for username/password -- there may be a problem with Sunbird. We'd be happy to check your iCalendar feed, if you can email us the URL ([old address removed]) -- we can see if there's a problem on our end. Thanks!

i went back to 0.2 and everything is fine. hoping this gets fixed in 0.4, but since i can't find documentation of the bug anywhere i'm not sure... i have seen a few different complaints from folks on the forums here and at 30boxes.
