Repeat every day for x times

I tried this syntax but each day when I completed a task, x didn't change . I don't understand how this works. Does it behave differently with "every" as opposes to "after"?
Hi newmilkentry,
Yes, "every" and "after" repeats do behave differently when you complete a task.
When you complete a task that repeats "every 1 day", for example, the next occurrence in the series will be due the day after the task you just completed.
With a task that repeats "after 1 day", the due date of the next occurrence will be based on the day you complete the task, not the due date of the previous occurrence. If you complete a task due tomorrow, the next occurrence will also be due tomorrow. (That is, 1 day after the completed date.)
Hope that helps!

Thanks for that, but my question was really about "x times" and the fact that "x" doesn't change each time I complete a task.
Sorry for the confusion, I misunderstood.
This number won't change as you complete tasks, so you won't be able to use it to see how many occurrences are left in the series. However, after you complete the task the appropriate number of times, it will simply stop repeating.
The "for X times" or "until [date]" phrases are only available when using an "every" repeat and not an "after" repeat.
Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
