Make Montly or Weekly Tasks Show Up in Today

phillip.buchanan says:
I am brand new to RTM and would like to know if I make a task that is due at the end of the week or the end of the month how can I make that show up in the today list in overview and make it appear there everyday until complete?

This is like a daily reminder for me to work on it and is mostly for fill in projects the type you work on when you can here and there. Those are easy to fall through the cracks though

Hi phillip.buchanan,
The Overview screen is able to show tasks which are due today, tomorrow or overdue. If an occurrence of your repeating tasks meets one of these criteria it will be displayed. However, if it occurs further in the future it won't be shown here.

One possible to solution is to use a task that repeats "after 1 day" instead. By using the "after" repeat, the task will only create a new occurrence when you complete the existing occurrence, so you won't get a new copy of the task generated every day cluttering your task list.

Hope that helps!

How would I enter this in? What is the syntax?

If you're creating a new task, you could use Smart Add syntax to create it like this:

New Task ^today *after 1 day

If the task already exists, you can select it and edit the Repeat property to be after 1 day.

Hope that helps!
