List Printing Format

mitty says:
I think my wife could benefit from RTM, but one of things needed will be to be able to print task lists.

Using the print button, I get a nicely formatted web page with a gray background. This background is a big problem because she uses an inkjet printer. Thus, slow and expensive.

IMHO also, a gray background's sole effect is to make the list harder to read by reducing contrast.

So ... is there some way to customize the printed list formatting or at least to kill the egregious gray?

Hi mitty,
It sounds like you're using your browser's Print button to print the web page directly, is that right? Our web app provides its own Print button which will format the task list for easier printing.

To use this button, select the list you want to Print and make sure no tasks are selected. Then use the "Print" button in the box to the right. This page has a no background, and provides a large checkbox for each task.

Hope that helps!

No joy there either. In FF 7.0.1 I click your Print button and see another tab opened, where the list has a gray background. Nothing else happens. I then use the FF print button and the page prints with the gray background again.

I am running Tab Mix Plus, but I disabled it and the problem didn't change.

The whole page background is gray. Your logo shows up in a white rectangle; obviously its background is white, not transparent. I looked at the HTML but could not see anything that would cause this gray background.

The only grays I see are:

.tasklist {
font-size: 0.95em;
color: #8a8a8a;
}

.priolist {
color: #8a8a8a;
}

This color renders as a slightly darker gray than the gray background.

Altering the HTML so the tag is explicit re background solves the problem:

I have no idea why it is defaulting to something else, but this should be a trivial fix for you.

oops -- the big blank space was where I put the tag. Let's try it with parens as delimiters:

(body bgcolor= "#FFFFFF")

Hi mitty,
Would you be able to contact us via email so we can take a closer look at this? We'd love to figure out what's causing this grey background.

Thanks!
