Task repeated in Google gadget
owyn says:
I have a "Daily Exercise" task which repeats "every 1 day" as priority 2.
I noticed when I checked my GPHP this morning that the task was showing as usual for today (blue normal) and tomorrow (black) but starting on Friday it was showing up twice for each day (both black).
I clicked Refresh in the gadget. No change.
Checked Overview, Weekly Planner looked ok, no duplicates.
I marked the task as complete in the gadget. Duplicates disappeared.
Minor problem, seen once. I usually don't look much beyond Overdue and Today in the gadget.

owyn, thanks for reporting this -- we'll check it out and see if we can see what might be causing this. If you notice this happening again (or any other unusual behaviour), please let us know. Thanks!

Happened again this morning.
Used search in RTM, found two tasks.
Checked my "Recurring" list, where I have all my recurring tasks. Two tasks showing. One for today and one for tomorrow. I happened to add a Note to the task with details of my daily exercise program. The same note is on both tasks.
I will leave that task as is for now. You can look at my data if needed. Nothing confidential in there yet.
PS: No comments allowed about bizarre exercise programs. They work for me. :)

Bug has now been located and fixed :) Thanks for helping us to track this down!

Thanks.
Just noticed the duplicates had disappeared from GPHP.
I still have two instances of the task in my Recurring list (today and tomorrow).
Is this a usual behavior? I don't see duplicate tasks for any of the other tasks in that list.
Should I delete the task for tomorrow? Or both instances, and re-enter??

emily (Remember The Milk) says:
It's possible to get multiple instances for a repeating task if you haven't completed the first one yet (if it's a task that repeats 'every day', it will generate the one for tomorrow whether you complete today's one or not) -- I'm not sure if this explains the issue that you're seeing, but please let us know if you continue to experience problems.

Yep. This explains it just fine.
Just tested adding and deleting notes to both today and tomorrow. Worked just fine. Was also able to create another valid "duplicate" in the view.
There is no problem now. I now understand how the list view operates.
Thanks again.

FYI:
I was looking at repeat options again and realized that "after 1 day" was better solution than "every 1 day" for daily nags.
Keeps them away from everything except Today or Overdue and avoids confusion of duplicates in list.
