How to remove due date completely?

Am I missing something? There seems no way to unset due date once a task has acquired one. I have searched all over but can't find an answer to this. I have a load of tasks that have spurious due dates, and I just want to set due date = 'none'. Surely I can do that?

You can unset a due date either by setting the due date to never, or by erasing the date and leaving the Due: field blank.
