reminders by mobile text messaging (cingular)

Hi,
I have my reminders setup to both email & also text message to my cingular number. The email is appearing daily, as it should, but I have yet to get a text message. I know text messaging to my phone works because I have a google calendar where I enabled a text-msg reminder & I get that one each time. Is this feature not functional yet for Cingular? Is there any way to try and diagnose what the problem might be? (it would be nice if there were a way to send a test text & see if it gen'd any errors).

Cingular reminders appear to be working on our end, but if you can email us at [old address removed] we'd be happy to look at your account and see what's happening.
We send our reminders to phonenumber@cingularme.com -- perhaps you could test this with your phone number and see if you receive the message on your phone?

Ok I figured out the problem.
I tried emailing my full number (including area code) at cingularme.com and I received an email back saying 550 Invalid Recipient. Thus, my phone number is not valid for @cingularme.com.
This clued me in that the problem is that I'm a former AT&T Wireless customer (which was acquired by Cingular). Cingular has never really integrated the AT&T people into their services, so you can't use cingular email addresses to send a text msg. The way you email former AT&T Wireless folks is to make it "@mmode.com".
Do you think you guy can add a "Cingular (former AT&T" option to the reminder settings and have it mail to @mmode.com?
Thanks!
Dylan

dtynan, thanks for letting us know. We'd be happy to add support for this. In the meantime, it's possible to configure reminders for this address by selecting 'Mobile' then 'Other', then entering your mmode.com address there. Hope this helps!
