Relative dates in the past and dueBefore

I'm trying to create a smart list with something like dueBefore:"3 days ago", which practically means all overdue tasks except those which are recently overdue.
dueBefore:yesterday works as expected, but when I enter "3 days ago" it is interpreted as 3 days from now, which are all tasks except those with a due date beyond 3 days in the future.
Is it possible to accomplish such relative dates referring to the past?

You can't search like this. I long for negative days in the searches, in this case dueBefore:"-3 days" as this would make searches even smarter.
