Add a tag to multiple tasks

I'd like to be able to select multiple tasks and add a tag to all of them. If I try this, it deletes the existing tags and replaces them with the new tags.
Is there a way to do this?
e.g.
If I have
Go to shops #chores
Have a picnic #fun
And I try to add the tag #outside, I end up with
Go to shops #outside
Have a picnic #outside
Instead of
Go to shops #chores #outside
Have a picnic #fun #outside

Actually there is. I figured it out. It you leave the tag in place when you edit many tasks at once, their existing tags remain and you can add a new one.
