change default due date to never

nzadri says:
I just started to use the Iphone app and it's great but:
Everytime I enter a new task, the due date is set automatially to today, and schows up in the Today list. My tasks are not day-linked. How to change the default due date to never (or sans échéance as it is in french?)
Thanks in advance.

This can be configured in the settings of the App.

Specifically, this is under the app's Settings (under More), in the Tasks section.

Keep in mind that new tasks will "inherit" the due date of the view they're a part of. (A new task added to the Today view, for example, will always have a due date of today unless you designate it otherwise.)

Interesting (Andrew's reply above). I was going to complain that in my iPhone Settings, I have the Default Due Date set to "never" and yet it always gets Today's date. Now I learn that if I'm on any view with a date at the top, it will receive that day's Due Date. Thus, we need to be in the List view for the Default Due Date to function as set by the user.

Suggestion: Add a Help section re Default Due Date and explain how it works in the iPhone (and perhaps other mobile) application(s).

marty_faulkner,
Thanks for the feedback. This is how it works on the website also (and we do have this help page), but the difference is that the default view for the mobile apps is Today; I recognize that we could clarify that page to apply to mobile apps' views.

Thanks again!

Why even offer the default option? The quick add box operating differently than the editor invoked by the plus sign is aggravating. Seems like something that could be refined and improved

psharkey,
The Add Task bar and Add Task screen (via the '+' icon) should operate the same, e.g. if you're looking at the Today view, adding a task either way would add a task due today.

If you're experiencing something else, could you list the specific steps?

Hope this helps!
