Repeating a task without setting a due date

mehcoleman says:
Say I have a task, "Clean the kitchen" set to repeat after 3 days. It does not have a due date.
Once I mark it as complete, RTM creates a new task immediately, and sets a due date of 3 days from now.

That's not what I want - I want the same task attributes - i.e. no due date. Can this be done?

I like to use 'due date' for tasks that absolutely must be completed by a certain deadline. Most tasks aren't like that.

For "clean the kitchen" I want the task on my list of things to do. Then, when its done, I want it to go away, and not see the task until 3 days later. After three days, that is when I want a new task to be created, and set with no due date.

Me too.

Repeating tasks like this are what ALWAYS get me off my game. Every system I've set up...THESE are what become the issues. Then I take them out of the system. THEN they don't get done regularly AND the system gets ignored.

The repeats are specifically for due tasks; it's not possible to repeat a task "after 3 days" without assigning a due date. :)

You may be interested in duplicating a task, which will preserve the task's attributes without assigning a new due date.

Hope this helps!
