Due Date Problem
rich_lamb says:
When I post tasks from different PC's with a given due date, the date which shows up on other PC's can be different.
I have 2 PC's at home both running identical XP versions, with identical and correct timezones set. I just set up a task for Tuesday 9 Nov 2010 on one PC and it displays as Monday 8 Nov 2010 on the other PC.
I've refreshed the lists on both PC's, restarted the browser, etc but the time difference persists.
This has happened on several tasks over the past few weeks.

I've learned more about this - partly by experiment, and partly by second-guessing how it's programmed.
Firstly, the dates entered on PC-A show up as a day earlier on PC-B. If I correct them on PC-B they show up as correct on BOTH PC's. All the tasks/dates eneterd on PC-B show up correct on both.
So the system is using the local time settings to set the due dates, and also to display them on any PC, and there must be a small offset of less than a day between my PC's.
Sure enough, PC-A had the "daylight savings" option set. Put this together with what people have suggested about the due time of tasks that don't have a time assigned - 0:00. This could explain why one PC shows tasks a day earlier - some whacky interpretation of daylight savings causing an hour of timeshift which would move to the previous day if the task time defaults to 0:00.
Of course, the fact I'm nowhere near a daylight savings update, and none of the tasks are on the other side of a daylight savings update, and both PC's show the same time, means this is really a bug - and writing the app to blindly adjust task times using the daylight savings option is not great thinking.

If you haven't done so already, would it be possible to submit a Tasks & Lists issue report via our support system?
Please select the issue that you're experiencing from the list on the left, and follow the steps shown. If your issue isn't listed, just click on "I'd like to report a new issue" on the left.
Your report should provide all the info that we need to investigate further, but we'll be in touch via email if we require any more details.
Thanks!

Well, I've followed the procedure - for what it's worth. That bug tracking system doesn't allow you to describe the defect unless it's a simple error
