dueAfter a previous date

I want to create a smart list showing all the outstanding tasks that were due sometime in the past seven days but which I've failed to complete. I don't want to show older incomplete tasks in this particular smart search.
I've tried
status:incomplete AND isShared:false AND dueAfter:"1 week ago" AND duebefore:Today
but it returns no results, even though I have several incomplete tasks that were due in the last few days. I've tried various other operators such as dueAfter:"last week", dueAfter:"7 days ago" etc with the same results. Sometimes it returns incomplete tasks due after seven days in the future, which obviously isn't what I was wanting.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

dueAfter only accepts future days (or today). I've tried to create a weekend smart lists, but finally gave up since it's impossible to find the Saturday tasks when searching on Sunday.

If dueAfter would accept negative values, that would be great! The same goes for dueBefore.
