You can disable it on the Tools menu under Gears Settings; simply set "http://www.rememberthemilk.com" to "Denied". You may need to reload the RTM site after this to make the change.
In general, it's also worthwhile to keep in mind that, going forward, Gears won't be supported by Google, and we're already looking at future (and better!) options.
