Upgrade to pro does not work

The app itself shouldn't change; you should automatically be able to synchronize immediately and receive push notifications (as per your settings).

I had a similar problem, I couldn't complete the purchase of the Pro version.
I found out that trying to purchase from the Settings page (Upgrade to Pro) didn't work. I would click on try for 1 month and it would show the timer icon then nothing.
In the end I managed to upgrade by going via the Settings page, Account Info. The upgrade page under Account Info worked.
