New tasks created in smart lists don't go to right list

I have a list called "Work". In this list, I have tasks that recur on a daily basis and are tagged as "daily". This can make the list pretty big and messy so I've created a smart list with this filter: "list:Work not tag:daily". This works great for viewing, but when I enter a new task in this list, it doesn't go to my "Work" list as I expect but to my "General" list. Is there some change to the filter that I can make to fix this? Is there a bug?
Adding tasks to a smart lists only works if ALL the smart list criteria are un-ambigouos. In your case, the not tag:daily is ambigouos. RTM then skips the whole thing and adds the task to your default list.
When you add the task, you can access it easily for a few seconds by clicking the task notification in the very top of the screen, even if the task doesn't meet the smart list criteria.

That is a very clever post Rajjan, thank you. I ended up just setting my Work list as the default since it is the only one that I used smart lists with. Thanks again!
