Smart Add via Chrome Omnibar

kutyshalev says:
I'd like to use the Chrome Omnibar to add tasks to RTM.

I understand there was a way using
http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/ext/addtask.rtm?d=&t=%s

as a "Search Engine"

Is there a similar way URL to do this with smart add so I can use all the nifty keyboard shortcuts?

Alternatively is there a page where I can just use a Smart Add without opening the entire app?

There is Remember the Milk extension for Chrome which allows you to complete, add, and view tasks from the menu bar icon. The extension is called Chrome Milk and is available at the Chrome Milk extension page.

Leah,

As I understand it, for ChromeMIlk I would:
1) Click on the ChromeMilk icon
2) Click AddTask
3) Type the task name (not a smart add so separate clicks for due dates or tags)

What I can do using the above method is:
1) Click on OmniBar (the place you type the URL)
2) type "rtm MyTask" hit enter
3) That opens a add task which is ALSO not a smart add, but allows to add due dates/tags and hit enter.

What my ideal situation is to type in the Omnibar:
"rtm MyTask #home ^tom http://www.website.com" click enter and be done.

I am sure there is a way to do this -- just need to know the URL to hit at remeberthemilk so that it treats the input as "Smart Add"

Can anyone help here?

You may also be interested in this tip to use the mobile site as a Quick Add.

Unfortunately the mobile site doesn't accept Smart Add in the task name currently.

Hope this helps!

Andrew,

The tip is nice, thanks.

It's still not getting me what I'm looking for which is to not use the mouse - only keyboard entry.

As soon as you have a URL that will accept a SmartAdd input, this would be easy. Until then I'll use what I have.

Thanks!

I've been using this Lifehacker tip for about a year now, and I love it. No mouse required.
