Undocumented feature?
Am I a beta tester?
This is not a joke, this really happened.. 2 or 3 times I have witnessed a cool, undocumented feature in my RTM widget. I cant make it repeat, and I dont know if it is tied to another app somehow. It has to do with scrolling text on a green background.
Was I included as a beta tester, is this a feature not turned on yet that is "leaking" through, or is this just some anomaly? It seems too well thought out to be an anomaly, however I cant find anything anywhere by anyone that mentions it as a feature or how to control it.
Its cool...then it goes away, never to appear again. Anybody have any answers for me? Or am I going to see space aliens next?

I'm not sure what you mean; there's no hidden feature only you are seeing. :)
If you haven't done so already, would it be possible to submit an Android issue report with some more details via our support system?
Please select the issue that you're experiencing from the list on the left, and follow the steps shown. If your issue isn't listed, just click on "I'd like to report a new issue" on the left.
Your report should provide all the info that we need to investigate further, but we'll be in touch via email if we require any more details.
Thanks!

It happened again!
It happens once every 2 or 3 days. I dont want you to fix it, I want you to make it happen all the time!
Ok, here is what happens:
I have an app called "Executive Assistant" (EA). One of it's features is that it creates a splash screen on Android, and lets you choose widgets to have appear on that splash screen. This only has happened on RTM when it appears in that splash screen. Maybe it is due to something EA does, but I dont see how that can be.
What happens is that I click the "on" button to wake my phone and see the splash screen. On it are two widgets, one of them is your 2x2 widget. The top task listed on the RTM widget is too long to fit on the line and normally, you would only see part of it, but when this happens, it scrolls!
The text (for the top line only) turns from black on white to black on green, and it scrolls to show the entire description of the task. It is hard to imagine how this could be an error, some code is making this happen.
All I wish is that it could happen more often, I think its cool.
But as soon as I unlock the screen it goes away, and I cannot get it to happen again until some time in the future, when the gremilins wake up or the moon is full or whatever makes this happen.
I will copy this into an issue report...but the only issue is that I want it to happen again :)

Ah, I see what you mean. It sounds like your widget is somehow getting the signal that it's in trackball mode (as opposed to touchscreen mode), which causes the line to be highlighted and the full name to scroll.
You can reproduce this simply by scrolling the trackball. :)

Problem with that suggestion is that I have an EVO, so I dont have a trackball :-( ... So this useful feature is foreign to me.
Im not alone, all the new big-screen phones have no trackball. Evo, galaxy-s, and the droid-x, none have a trackball, or trackpad.
....now, for the first time I miss it.
How about some love for all us big screen guys? Some other way to activate this feature might be nice!

This isn't anything we're actively doing, but rather something built in to the Android OS (that's being activated somehow, perhaps in the Executive Assistant app); there's not much for us to "do" here.
