Workaround for eliminating other users tasks from overview page?
gmonty says:
The problem is that I share 2 lists with 2 other people and their tasks show up on the overview page which can make things confusing. I can't see a way to stop this, therefore I want to make 3 smart lists. One for just my items due today, due tomorrow and one for overdue. Please let me know how to create these or alternatively a workaround to fix the overview page to only show my tasks? If that is possible that would be the best.

You can create Smart Lists, but they won't show up in the Overview. (The Overview isn't possible to be edited or filtered.)

Can you please let me know what I need to punch in to create these 3 smart lists. I struggle when needing to combine advanced search operators, not sure where to put brackets in, the order etc. Thanks!

Hi gmonty,
Sure, I understand!
Today: due:today
Tomorrow: due:tomorrow
Overdue: dueBefore:today
You'd then want to exclude either the shared tasks based on their shared list or the fact that they're shared with them in general. (I'm not sure which would be most appropriate for you.)
For example:
due:today NOT list:"Shared Project" NOT list:"Work Team"
due:today NOT sharedWith:username NOT sharedWith:otheruser
You can obviously add other criteria or combine those criteria; post back if you'd like any more help!
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply they work great but is their any easier way of eliminating all shared tasks for these sorts of searches - so I can create Smart Lists on that basis and not worry about having to create them again if I end up sharing lists with more people. I hope that makes sense.
andrewski (Remember The Milk) says:
You could create a "Shared" Smart List that contains all the criteria, either sharedWith:username type or list:"Shared List" type criteria.
Then, when creating a new Smart List, you could simply tack on NOT list:Shared at the end and it will automatically exclude all these tasks.
When you share lists with more people, you would simply need to update the Shared Smart List and all other Smart Lists would automatically pick that up.
Hope this helps!
