Blank Gmail message lists using plugin in Chrome

When I load gmail it works fine, but when I try to switch folders the new folder always displays a blank message list. It doesn't say "no messages in this folder", but the header and footer of the message list (both of which have the "Select: All, None, etc. etc." list simply display right on top of each other.
I can fix this in two ways:
1. disabling JUST the RTM gmail extension
2. clicking refresh while viewing an "empty" folder -- this causes gmail to reload entirely but then I am shown whatever folder I was in with messages.
Any ideas about why this is? Need to update the plugin perhaps? I'd hate to have to disable it as it's incredibly useful for me to have it there.

If you haven't done so already, would it be possible to submit a Gmail issue report via our support system?
Please select the issue that you're experiencing from the list on the left, and follow the steps shown. If your issue isn't listed, just click on "I'd like to report a new issue" on the left.
Your report should provide all the info that we need to investigate further, but we'll be in touch via email if we require any more details.
Thanks!

Already done (#198293192GM).
My gmail version (16360919) is newer than the newest one you have on the status page, so I'm guessing that's at least part of the problem.

FYI: seems to be fixed with your newest update even though it's not the same version as my gmail
