Sync via USB (iPhone)

does anybody now whether sync is possible via usb?
Sync works fine via the internet in Germany. However, I am currently in Switzerland and would like to avoid roaming costs.

If you are in an area with wi-fi access, you can synch over wifi only. (Wifi is how those of us with iPod Touch synch.)
