tasks appear deleted (not searchable) but still being emailed to me

I rechecked this morning and the issue was the same. Then I checked my email. I get my daily tasks emailed to me every morning at 7am. The list of tasks that was emailed to me contained many of the tasks that I earlier tried searching for but don't seem to exist in my RTM queue / history.
So what is going on here? Anyone know?
