any way to automatically delete duplicate tasks?

pbarker says:
I upgraded to a new blackberry, downloaded RTM milksync and didn't realize that I was supposed to do a 'reset sync' instead of a regular sync. Of course, now I have all my tasks duplicated (several hundred). Is there any way to quickly or automatically delete duplicate tasks?

First of all, I'd suggest you back up your tasks, just so you don't accidentally delete anything in this process.

As for finding the duplicates themselves, you may be able to search for 'addedBefore:tomorrow' (which seems silly but will return all tasks showing the date they were added :) and sort by name; then you can examine each of the duplicates. For example, for a given task name, you may find an old task added a while ago and a duplicate added a few days ago.

Typically you'll have one copy of each duplicated task that has a very recent date, the date the tasks were duplicated. If you can get the specific date when all duplicates were added, you may be able to use the 'added:' operator to find them all to delete them, e.g. 'addedAfter:yesterday' if they were all duplicated then.

Hope this helps!
