What does the '>' stand for?

(closed account) says:
Hello,

I guess it's asked for a thousand times before but I was not able to find the answer yet, so please help me out:

Some of my ToDo-Items in the list-view (no matter what list) are sometimes marked with an '>' on the left side to the box to check or uncheck the item.
As it's sometimes the first, sometimes the second item, sometimes even a lot more items in the list - there's the question:
what does '>' mean? What will it tell me? Why is it here? ;-)

Can you please help me out, it makes me crazy not knowing what it stand for!

Thanks a lot for a short answer!
Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,

the ">" indicates which task is selected by keyboard shortcut. Try hitting j / k to move the indicator up / down. See http://www.rememberthemilk.com/help/answers/basics/keyboard.rtm for the list of all keyboard shortcuts.
