Repeat task without remaining on list

I'm trying to set-up a repeating task every Saturday but I want the task to only appear on the Saturday and not be seen for the rest of the week.
I'm trying to copy the system I used with google calendar with reminder emails but instead the reminders should arrive in my task list.
Any Suggestions?

It sounds like you may want to use Smart Lists that exclude tasks. You could limit the Smart List to a certain date, date range, or tag.
Also, you may be interested in sleeper tags, which accomplish a related goal of providing some (or no) lead time on tasks tagged. This would be preferable if you wanted a different lead time on different tasks.
