SmartAdd is guessing wrong
finerrecliner says:
I've come across a few situations where SmartAdd assumes the due date is part of the task name, but it really isn't.
Some examples:
- On my grocery list, I try to add "1/2 cup of sour cream". But RTM turns this into "cup of sour cream (due Jan 2nd)". Not only did it mistakenly apply a due date, but it also changes the amount of sour cream I thought I needed!
- I tried to add "buy sun glasses" to a wish list. But RTM turned this into "buy glasses (due sunday)". Again, I didn't want this task to have a due date, and it changed the meaning of the task.
- Even when I try to explicitly tell SmartAdd "no due date" by typing, "buy sun glasses ^none". RTM still incorrectly turns this into "buy glasses ^none (due sunday)".
SmartAdd: 99% of the time I love you, but sometimes SmartAdd is not so smart.
Anyone have a suggestion on how to avoid these mistakes?

Thanks for reporting this; I've added this to our list to investigate.
In the meantime, as per our Smart Add FAQ,you can disable Smart Add parsing in a portion of a task's name or for an entire task on a case by case basis.
For example:
Buy "1/2 cup" sour cream ^none #groceries (The Smart Add would still work at the end since it's only disabled for the portion in quotation marks.)
~Buy 1/2 cup sour cream for brunch Saturday (Here, 1/2 and Saturday would both be ignored, as would anything else, as the tilde at the beginning says, "Smart Add is off for this task.")
Hope this helps!

Thank you andrewski! I think the disable syntax will work for me :)
