sync problem when I replaced my blackberry

so my Blackberry Storm died and verizon replaced... of course they told me they were moving everything.. and all they moved was my contacts... so I have been rebuilding... and i screwed up the milksync intall... here is what i did:

1) downloaded milksync...
2) milksynce - both directions
3) all tasks were duplicated... since I am tracking a bunch of personal and professional projects - I had a couple hundred tasks...
4) so my solutions was:
a) delete all tasks on Blackberry storm
b sync from rtm to hand held...
c) i though that it would reload all the tasks... but that is not what happend...

My fear is that when i sync in both direction - all my tasks in rtm will be deleted and I will lose everything...

any ideas..?
