Disable Trackball Light on Sync
myork29 says:
Hi there,
Is there a way to disable the trackball light notification when RTM is syncing every 5 minutes? I look at my phone and assume it's a text message but when I turn on the screen I see that its just the task sync.
If there isn't a way, it would be great to have it changed so that the light does not illuminate just for syncing. I'm not really sure why anyone would want to be notified of it...
Thanks for your help! Looking forward to hearing from you.

myork29,
Can you let me know which device you have?

Hey there Andrew! I've got a Nexus One (AT&T GSM bands, if that helps...)

Thanks Michael; I've added that to our list to investigate.

Just to chime in that it is the same on my N1. It's not deal breaker but it is a little annoying. Personally it would be great if it can be hidden completely (no notification for sync at all).
myork29 says:
Agreed, softska. Shouldn't be a notification.

Agreed, it makes me think I have a text/email when my phone is on silent sitting on my desk.

Any news on this? About ready to uninstall the app just because of this annoyance.
geowolf says:
Agreed, light during sync is distracting and not serving a useful purpose.

Please remove it or make it configurable.

I have already reported the bug a while ago.
The lack of attention on such a deal breaker problem is disturbing.
Management of tasks is about improving efficiency. Having to look at the phone to see if it's a useful alert or not goes *way* against the whole point of using Remember the Milk.
Can someone *please* look at this?

Same issue here on a Nexus One. Setting sync to manual obviously eliminates the problem, but of course completely defeats the point of having a background sync feature.

We've reported this to the Android folks; unfortunately it's an issue with Android, which ignores every attempt that we make to tell it not to light up the trackball on sync. :(
We're still confirming, but it looks like it might be fixed in Froyo (yay!). Apologies to everyone who's being driven crazy by the trackball in the meantime (we'd switch it off if we could, I swear!).
