Open an OS X finder path link to a file or folder in OS X app or Web app

In an effort to gain one click access to local files and folders in OS X, the ability to paste a link into the URL field that opens a local file or folder would be awesome. Perhaps this would be easier to code from the OS X app rather than the web app, but either would be awesome!

My work around for this is just to put the path to the file in the URL field. It's not ideal, but it works.

If you use something like Alfred [1], it's a few keystrokes to open up the directory.
