For a short time there was 3rd party apps that would run on Windows that would allow access to RTM as well as provide notifications. Those apps no longer are maintained and/or lack full functionality. It seems now there is a gap with RTM in cross platform native OS support. This gap will likely never get filled, but why not provide support for at least notifications to come through via Notification Agents?

I propose that RTM add support for Notification Agents such as Boxcar, Prowl, Pushbullet, or Pushover. The key and/or token provided to RTM should be private and secure.
