Autocompletion during Smart Add loses focus on the text field?

felciano says:
Hi --

I've noticed that when I add tags, due dates, etc at the end of a new task entered using the tab-completion menus in Smart Add, I can no longer enter additional attributes or even hit Return to accept the task.

For example, if I use the # key to indicate that I want to add a list or tag, and then start typing the name of the list, I get a popup completion menu of candidate lists. I can then navigate that menu using the up/down arrows to pick one, and hit Tab to select it. Once I hit Tab, the info is entered into the text field (e.g. #mylist) but the cursor is no longer in the text field, so I cannot keep typing nor can I hit Enter to accept the new task.

Am I doing this wrong? Is there a different way to use the autocomplete functionality that keeps my focus on the text field?

Depending on your browser, Tab may not be the key you want to press. For example, in Firefox, you would want to press the right arrow key to select the highlighted autocompletion without advancing to the next field.
