How doe I create a list or today's tasks and any due before today?

I tried:

due: today AND duebefore: Today

this does not seem to sork - what am I missing?

Because a task can't be both due today and due another day before today.

Change your and to or and you'll be good to go.

You could also try simplifying and just do: dueBefore:tomorrow
