Accidentally deleted tasks

lttp says:
Hi,

I have been having a problem with accidentally deleting tasks when I've accidentally got 2 tasks selected at the same time. I want to delete one but not the other. Once they're deleted, there doesn't seem to be any way to get them back.

2 examples: I went to look for a big project task this morning and can't find it. I has loads and loads of notes in it, so I'm pretty stuck without it. My guess is that I accidentally deleted it yesterday.

I then want to see if I could get it back from the offline app "app for the milk" and accidentally pressed on the delete key there and lost another task to do with that project.

Using the Undo last action hasn't brought either task back.

I do find the way tasks are selected to be unintuitive. Also, you can't always tell that you've got 2 or more tasks selected because, if the list is long, then one of them has probably scrolled off the page. Also, the orange warning can't always be seen for the same reason.

Is there any way to get my tasks back?

This is becoming a serious issue now. Last time it happened, it was lucky that I'd printed the notes and could type them back in. But this time I don't have copies of the notes.

Could we have a trash can or something? Also, could we have a warning/confirmation before deleting a task?

Can anybody help?

Thanks,

Jane

Hi Jane,
You can undo multiple times until the start of your session; the "history" lasts as long as your browsing session is active, so if you log out, refresh, or close your browser, it will end there.

And the undo history, while available through our API, is not available in App for the Milk as far as I know.

As for selecting multiple tasks, if you click on the task, you will select just that task, but if you use the checkboxes, you will (de)select tasks in a group selection. Look for the selection indication on the right (pictured below), which is placed such that you should be able to see how many tasks you have selected even in a long list.

Hope this helps!
