Inserting hyperlinks to files

stealthtractor says:
Hi

Is it possible to insert a link to a file on my computer in the notes field of a task (or in any field for that matter)?

I could just copy and paste the file path, but is there a way to make it a hyperlink that opens the document in question?

Thanks
Richard

Use the URL field, with the syntax file:///C:/Some%20catalogue/File.xls

%20 is for blanks, adding regular blanks won't work.

Some users discussed this before and pointed out some interesting particulars.

More information on the file URI schema.

Thanks for your replies!

I haven't managed to get it to work yet, but I'll try installing the locallink add-on mentioned in that other thread and see if that works.

Thanks again
Richard

You can do this very nicely with Google docs and then the document is available on any computer or phone with a browser.
