RTM's online model is good for allowing work at any computer with an internet connection, but backups are paramount for me. I have read on this forum that RTM maintains off-site backups in real time. That's good but I don't want to trust any organisation with my backups. I want to do it myself.

RTM's backups will protect me against total loss, but not small human errors such as deleting a bunch of tasks by accident and not noticing until it's too late to undo the action.

I can download an iCal format file, but how would I restore that to RTM with all the smart lists, task attributes and other detailed settings that take so long to set up?

I vote for an option to mirror ALL personal RTM settings and data on the local hard hard in real time, so that our usual local backup routines will capture it automatically - without having to mess around with special routines just to protect our RTM data.
