Tasks that repeat Every year

lvram says:
I have some tasks that repeat yearly. Is there a way to hide them from my inbox? If I do not have a lot of upcoming tasks then the ones for 2010 appear.

You could try the Sleeper tag method described here:

In this case maybe a z1m would do it?

rajjan's idea is perhaps the best way for hiding next year's tasks.
On the other hand, RTM works best (at least for me) when I empty my Inbox. I use another list—called "Mine" :)—for my tasks, and move everything there once they're "set".
That way, my Inbox only captures tasks that I haven't marked yet (with due dates, tags, etc.), that were sent to me, that I emailed in, etc. In effect, it becomes like my email Inbox: items waiting to be processed.
A bit tangential, but it may help your organizaton? :)

Rajjan's method is the most powerful, but some find it too much overhead. Another simple way to get distant tasks out of sight is to have a smartlist that only looks ahead for a set period - say two weeks: dueWithin:"2 weeks of today". If you want more of a heads up on some things than others, you can add priorities or tags so that all P1 items appear a month ahead of time, P2 2 weeks, P3 2 days, and no priority tasks only appear once due, for example. Smart lists are very powerful and solve many of RTM's quirks and apparent shortcomings.
