Firefox upgrade to 3.5

Has anyone else noticed an incredibly slow but sporadic response time recently? Doesn't seem to be linked to any particular actions and it doesn't happen all the time. I upgraded to Firefox 3.5 this past week and that is the only recent change I can think of.

Are you using Gears? I recall that other people who had a similar issue found that disabling Gears took care of it. You may find a forum post about Firefox 3.5 and Gears helpful.
