Moo sound

"Well, the results are in! Of those who chose a custom sound (we’re not interested in those boring people who went with the default sound), 56% went for the cowbell and a respectable 44% selected the “moo”.
If you’re one of the aforementioned unexciting people with the default alert sound set, why not switch today?."
I'm sorry to be such an "unexciting" person, but a sound of a dude saying "moo" isn't exactly something I want my iPhone emitting...
At least make it an *actual* cow... ??

Hi binaryeric,
I meant to post about this earlier, sorry!
We actually spent a fair bit of time evaluating "moo" sounds (and almost went crazy doing it :). Our plan was to have a real cow sound, but it turned out to be much harder than we thought to find something that worked. :(
It seems like most real cow sounds are recorded in fields, or wherever cows hang out (I guess not many of them are found in recording studios...). As a result, the sounds weren't great quality and were pretty terrible when played on the iPhone (we tried editing to make the sound clearer, but the results still weren't fantastic).
We also evaluated a lot of human-made "moo" sounds to find the one that we're using; most of them sounded pretty... wrong. :) We decided to go with something that was obviously human, as some of the "human trying to be cow" sounds were pretty bad.
That said, we'd still love to have a real cow sound if we could source one; we've spent many hours scouring the Internet, but if there's anyone reading this who has some sound effect expertise and might have some pointers, we'd love any help locating the perfect cow sound. :)
